Hello! I'm Val Hebert, and I am so glad that you are here! I create handmade needle felted goodness that's intended to delight + inspire. A painter at heart, and an inventive seamstress, I needle felt to calm my mind, organize my thoughts and offset the difficulties and celebrations that come with supporting family members with health challenges. Not one to sit idly while dealing with life’s hardships, I happened upon the craft of needle felting. This charming art medium allows all my artistic sensibilities; painting, sewing & designing to be brought together on the canvas of repurposed wool, that I needle felt to my heart’s content. Needle felting allows my hands to stay busy while my brain works through life challenges in the name of school district lawsuits, insurance parity violation, and simply keeping my family safe, alive, and intact. I dug deep once again in 2021 when my husband and life partner of 33 years was struck with GBM4 brain cancer. Even though he survived only 7.5 months after diagnosis, my art and faith keeps me going. Needle felting allows me to create whimsically charming art that helps make me SMILE, continually bringing light and hope into my life. I aim to bring this whimsical charm to each creation, offering up handmade keepsakes for future generations, while keeping both our hearts + minds calm and focused.
