Welcome to Val's Art Studio
and the home of Hello Felt - the e-course!
Hello! I'm Val Hebert, and I create handmade needle felted goodness that's intended to delight and inspire. A painter at heart, and an inventive seamstress, I needle felt to calm my mind, organize my thoughts and offset the difficulties and celebrations that come with supporting a child with health challenges. In 2007, I quit my job so I could be an advocate for my child. Not one to sit idly, I happened upon the craft of needle felting. This charming art medium allows all my artistic sensibilities; painting, sewing & designing to be brought together on the canvas of repurposed wool, that I needle felt to my heart’s content. Needle felting allows my hands to stay busy while my brain works through challenges for my child in the name of lawsuits with the school district, insurance parity violation, and simply keeping my child safe, alive, and my family intact. Needle felting allows me to create charming and darling things that make me SMILE, continually bringing light and hope into my life during dark and challenging times. I aim to bring a whimsical charm to each creation, offering up handmade keepsakes for future generations, while keeping my heart calm and focused.*
